Untapped Kumamoto

Let me help you discover untapped experiences

FLAVÉDO par LISETTE ~fruit parlor where you can enjoy seasonal Kumamoto fruits parfait~

One of the greatest things about living in Japan is that you can feel the change of seasons.

Since ancient, we have appreciated it and expressed it by reading haiku poetry, drawings, etc.

Recently, I’ve started to join tea ceremony.

When it comes to traditional tea ceremony, most of you would think of the difficult manners and complex movements etc.

What I like about the idea of tea is that focusing on at the present and appreciating the season we are having right now.

There are many ways we can feel the season in Kumamoto.

Not just by the change of weather or scenery but also by savoring foods.

Since Kumamoto has rich resources from mountains and seas so the quality and the amount of production is one of the best in Japan.

Today, I’d like to share with you this lovely fruit parlor, FLAVÉDO par LISETTE downtown Kumamoto.

Every month, they offer different fruit parfait using seasonal fruits.

Tanima(who has just appeared in the last article about hair donation) and I often visit there to seek for fresh fruits.

Let’s get to know about FLAVÉDO par LISETTE and enjoy the beautiful parfait!

The parlor is on the basement but thanks to the open ceiling space, it is naturally bright and relaxing.

The opening hour is from 12 to 6 pm on weekdays and to 7 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

They are closed on every Tuesdays and the first and the third Monday.

FLAVÉDO par LISETTE opened in 2016.

Originally, there is a cafe “CAFE LISETTE” in Tokyo.

Takashi Tsurumi, who had produced CAFE LISETTE, had an opportunity to make mikan jam (mikan is a popular orange in Japan).

He learned that Kumamoto produces many kinds of fruits throughout a year and it can create a value if he can involve in all process, which is from growing fruits to make products.

He had decided to open FLAVÉDO par LISETTE which has a big kitchen where they can process fresh fruits from farms.

They offer 2 kinds of parfaits every month.

I always go there with Tanima so we order both and share.

This is the menu.

There are other foods, such as pudding, toasts, fruits sandwich, etc.

Except for parfait, the serving number is limited so if you want to try those, I recommend you to go early.

Here are some photos of parfait we have had last few month.

Every time we go there, we are amazed by the beautiful fruits and the wonderful combination.

Once I posted the photo of kumquat parfait on Instagram, I received a message from the fruit farmer who grew the kumquat.

It is amazing to interact with the people who actually grew the fruits.

They have great passion and pride to provide amazing quality of fruit.
